Getting Started
1What does BookletAI actually do?
Tell it what you want in a sentence, or paste in a draft you've already written, and it produces a fully designed booklet — laid out, illustrated, and ready to download, print, or share. Everything happens in a chat. You never open a design tool.
2I'm not a designer. Can I still use this?
Yes. You don't pick fonts, colours, or layouts. Once your text is ready, you get 10 visual styles built around your topic — half polished and professional, half bolder and more creative. Pick one and the whole booklet follows it.
3How does the process work?
Four steps:
- Tell it what you need — the topic, and who it's for.
- Review the text — you see the full wording of every page before anything is designed. Editing at this stage is free.
- Pick a style — choose one of 10.
- Generate the pages — then refine any page you want.
4How long does a booklet take?
Usually a few minutes to around fifteen. Longer booklets and ones that need web research take more time. Pages are generated several at a time, so you're not waiting page by page.
5How is this different from Canva or Word?
In Word you do the layout yourself. In Canva you pick a template and drag elements around. Here you bring the content and the layout and imagery are handled for you. The trade-off: you get less pixel-level control than a full design tool.
6What kinds of booklets can I make?
Workbooks, course handouts, product brochures, company profiles, portfolios, magazines, research reports, annual reports, yearbooks, employee handbooks, manuals, how-to guides, travel journals, cookbooks, field guides, and children's storybooks, among others.
7I only have an idea, not the content. Is that enough?
Yes — that's how most people start. Give it a topic and it researches, structures, writes the content, then designs it.
8I've already written my copy. Can it just lay it out without rewriting?
Yes. Text you supply is kept word for word — not rewritten, shortened, or reordered.
Say so up front: *"This is my finished copy. Keep the wording exactly as written and just design it."*
9What languages can it write in?
Any language. Just ask.
Separately: it replies in whatever language you type in. So you can chat in English and still say "make the booklet in Spanish" — the conversation stays English, the booklet comes out Spanish.
10Do I need an account?
Yes, you'll need to sign up to create anything. New accounts get free credits — enough to take a booklet all the way through and see the result.
Uploading Files & Images
11What files can I upload?
Documents: PDF, Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx), TXT, Markdown
Images: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF
Up to 100MB per file, 10 files at a time.
12What format should my Word or PowerPoint file be?
Save as the modern formats — .docx and .pptx. Use *Save As* if you have an older .doc or .ppt file.
13I want it to match a design I've seen. How do I show it?
Take a screenshot of the design and upload that, then say what you want borrowed — for example *"use this cover treatment."*
14Can I upload photos in batches?
Yes — 10 files at a time, as many batches as you need.
When you send a batch, mention where they belong: *"These five are for the dessert section."* Otherwise it won't know which pages they go on.
15One photo has several recipes on it. Can they be split onto separate pages?
Yes — just say *"split the three dishes in this photo onto three pages."* If the text in the photo is small, cropping it into separate images first gives better results.
16Can I use my own logo and brand colours?
- Logo — upload it as an image and say *"this is our logo, put it on the cover."*
- Brand colours — give the hex code (for example
#1D272C) and it uses that exact value. - QR codes — generate the image yourself and upload it.
17Will my uploads be used to train AI?
No. We don't use anything you upload or generate to train models.
Content & Copy
18Can I see what it's going to write before pages are generated?
Yes, and this is the step worth slowing down for. You get the complete wording of every page first.
Editing text at this stage costs no credits, so it's the cheapest place to get things right.
19How many pages will I get? Can I set the number?
The default is 8–15 pages including the cover. Say *"make it 20 pages"* and it will. There's no upper limit.
20Can I see a few pages before committing to the whole thing?
Yes, and it's the recommended approach — it generates 1–3 pages first by default. Once the content and style look right, it continues with the rest.
21Is the content it writes accurate?
Anything you supply is preserved as-is.
For content it researches itself, check the key figures, names, and dates before you publish.
22How do I make sure a page matches my original copy exactly?
Point at it directly: *"Page 3 should match my original wording exactly."*
When text doesn't fit, it reduces the type size or continues onto another page — your content is never cut.
23I have a lot of source material. What's the safest way to give it to you?
Upload it as files rather than pasting into the chat. Uploaded files are stored in full and stay available throughout.
For very large projects, splitting into several booklets keeps each one focused.
24Can it write exercises and answer keys?
Yes — practice questions, unit quizzes, chapter summaries, and glossaries. Say how many questions you want and whether you need an answer key.
Crosswords and puzzles work too; it's worth checking the answers yourself once they're generated.
25Can it make a table of contents?
Yes. You can ask for page numbers in the contents, and for running headers or footers.
26How do I remove a number I don't want on a page?
Just say *"remove that number on page 5."*
27Can it produce a bilingual booklet?
Yes — mention it at the text review step, for example *"English and Spanish side by side on each page."* Bilingual pages hold roughly twice the text, so expect a higher page count.
28Is there anything it won't create?
Sexual content, graphic violence, hate speech, and anything illegal. It also won't help fabricate certificates or invent credentials and experience that didn't happen.
Design & Layout
29How do I choose a style?
Once your text is confirmed you get 10 styles generated around your subject — five polished and professional, five more creative. Each comes with a colour and type preview. Click one.
Want a different set? Describe the feel you're after — *"more modern"*, *"softer colours"* — and it generates a fresh batch.
30Are there ready-made templates as well?
Yes. If templates exist for the kind of booklet you're making, a template tab appears alongside the AI styles.
Templates are finished designs — what you see is what you get, and results are consistent. AI styles fit your specific subject more closely but come out differently every time.
No template tab? Be more specific at the start — say *"make a cookbook"* rather than *"make a booklet."*
31Can I change the style halfway through?
Yes. Pages already generated need to be regenerated to pick up the new look, and that's billed as normal generation.
So it pays to settle the style on the first 3 pages before building out the whole booklet.
32Can it do proper magazine-style columns?
Yes. Be specific for best results: *"two-column body text, a pull quote, and captions under the images."*
33Can it make a tri-fold brochure?
Yes. You'll get one page divided into three panels, ready to fold after printing.
34How do I adjust spacing and text size on a page?
Every page has an edit menu with one-click fixes: fill the page, loosen spacing, fix overlaps, and enlarge text.
Images
35Where do the images come from?
Three sources: your own uploads, web image search, and AI generation.
36What does an AI-generated image cost?
10 credits each. You can generate several options at once and pick one — billed per image.
37Can I get real photography instead of AI illustrations?
Yes — say *"use real photographs, not AI illustrations"* and it switches to image search.
38How do I fix the images on a page?
The page edit menu has these:
- Replace images — finds images that match the text, keeping the same size and position
- Unify image style — brings the colour treatment and look into line across the booklet
- Add images — fills pages that have none
For a repeat, just point at it: *"pages 5 and 8 use the same image — change page 8."*
39Can I leave space for photos and add them later?
Yes. Ask it to *"leave an image placeholder here."* Later, click that spot in manual editing and upload your photo — this costs no credits, which makes it far cheaper than having AI regenerate images.
40Can I use the images commercially?
- Your own uploads — your copyright.
- AI-generated — yours to use in your booklet.
- From image search — check the licensing before commercial use.
If a third-party logo or watermark shows up in an image, ask for a replacement.
Editing & Revisions
41Can I change things after the booklet is generated?
Two ways:
- Ask the AI — describe the change in plain words, e.g. *"make the heading bigger"* (8 credits per page)
- Edit it yourself — open manual editing and drag, retype, and swap images directly, like a slide editor (free)
Worth knowing: nudging position, fixing a typo, and swapping in your own photo are all free in manual editing.
42What can I change in manual editing?
Text, size, bold, colour, alignment, images, image rotation, position, scale, and deleting elements. Undo is available.
43Can I reorder or delete pages?
Both, and both are free. Remaining pages renumber automatically after a deletion.
44Can I insert a page in the middle?
Yes — say where it goes. It's billed as a new page (30 credits).
45Can I go back to an earlier version?
Yes. Every page keeps its version history, and you can roll back from the edit menu.
46How do I get it to change one thing and nothing else?
Be specific, and add *"change only this — leave everything else as it is."*
Exact values beat adjectives: *"make the heading 22px"* and *"use #00875A"* land much closer than *"bigger"* or *"greener."*
47How do I make page 2 match page 1?
Say it plainly: *"Use page 1 as the master — same layout, same image sizes, same spacing on page 2."*
Downloading, Sharing & Printing
48What formats can I download?
Two: PDF for printing and sending, and an interactive flipbook that turns like a real book in the browser.
49Is the PDF good quality?
Yes. Text stays selectable and searchable, and it prints sharp.
50How do I share a booklet?
Click share and copy the link. Whoever opens it gets a full-screen flipbook view — no account needed.
51Does the download have a watermark?
Free downloads carry a watermark; paid downloads don't.
This applies to booklets made before you upgraded too — just download them again.
52Can I print double-sided and bind it?
Yes — choose double-sided in your printer settings. For a folded booklet, set the page order to the booklet or fold layout in your print dialog.
Credits & Billing
53How do credits work?

If something fails to generate, those credits go back automatically.
54Do new accounts get free credits?
Yes — enough to build a complete booklet and see how it turns out.
55What's the difference between a subscription and a credit pack?
- Subscription — monthly or yearly, with a batch of credits each billing period. Best if you create regularly.
- Credit pack — pay once, valid for a year, no auto-renewal. Best for a one-off project.
Both remove the download watermark. See the pricing page for current plans.
56How are subscription credits issued?
Each billing period adds a fresh batch, and a new batch arrives when the next period begins.
Going through them faster than expected? Wait for the next period, or add a credit pack at any time.
If you've paid but credits haven't arrived, email support with your order number.
57Do credits expire?
Signup credits don't expire. Credit pack credits are valid for a year from purchase. Subscription credits are used within their billing period.
58I ran out of credits mid-booklet. Is my work still there?
All of it. Your booklet and the conversation are preserved — top up, go back to the same page, and carry on where you left off.
59How do I make credits go further?
- Settle the content at the text review stage — editing there is free.
- Confirm the style on 3 pages before generating the rest.
- Use manual editing for repositioning, typos, and your own photos — free.
- Use the page controls for reordering and deleting — free.
- Batch your changes into one request rather than several.
- Ask for image placeholders and upload your own photos rather than generating images.
For Teams & Client Work
60Can I use booklets I make for client work?
Yes. What you create is yours to use commercially. Just check the licensing on any images that came from web search (see question 40).
61Can I keep a consistent look across several booklets?
Yes. The most reliable route is a template — once a look works, it produces consistent results every time. You can also supply your brand colours as hex values and specify the same fonts on each new booklet.
62Where is my data stored, and how long do you keep it?
Account details and uploaded or generated content are deleted within 30 days of account closure, with backups cleared on a rolling 90-day basis. Payment and tax records are retained for 7 years as required by law. Nothing you upload is used to train models. See the privacy policy for full details.
